A Note to the Opera Guild from Keith Clark
“Many thanks for your Opera Guild’s donation to the Astoria Music Festival..
The 2016 Astoria was a big success. Our many events experienced significant increase in audience support.
I attach a bit of information about the festival.
Our operatic events wire highlights of the summer. A sold-out audience heard “Il Trovatore” with Angela Meade, Richard Zeller and an all-star cast. (We repeated a shorter version in Portland’s Opera in the Park on August 5.) Our fine
Apprentice Vocal Artists received intensive coaching and lessons from Met mezzo-soprano MaryAnn McCormick, presented impressive solo recitals, and were featured in supporting roles and chorus in “Il Trovatore,” Several were featured in two fully staged performances of Adamo’s “Little Women,” presented by guest ensemble Eugene Opera.
I shall return to Portland soon, and look forward to getting together to discuss exciting future projects.”
